Can I go to University if I’ve studied a BTEC?

Yes! We accept BTEC qualifications on all of our courses.
In fact according to Which? in 2015 95% of universities were accepting BTEC students.

If I study a BTEC does that limit what I can study after?

Taking a BTEC definitely doesn’t limit what you can study.
Some courses need you to study a certain subject or area so it’s best to check course listings for any specific entry requirements.

What if I study a mix of BTEC and A Level?

If you are studying 2 A levels and one BTEC and meet all other criteria, your application would be considered in the same way as those only studying the same qualification.

What are the BTEC pathways into university?

There are two pathways:
• BTEC level 3 – This is equal to studying a-levels and on completion would gain you access onto a full degree
• BTEC level 4 HNC and level 5 HND

Who is more likely to get a place at university – An A level student or BTEC Student?

BTEC students achieving good grades are just as sought after as students with good A-level results.
In fact, sometimes the level of independent study at BTEC is more similar to university study.
