“I was told to study a BTEC and not A Levels and at first this daunted me. After finding out I was going to be studying and on placement alongside, I panicked.
Looking back, BTEC was the best possible choice for me due to me learning through practical study, as I am not the textbook type of person. Through placements I was able to recognise the direction I wanted to head towards my future. Then the idea of not having to sit exams was the cherry on the cake.
I studied Level 3 BTEC diploma in Health and Social care which has now put me on the path to becoming a Qualified Learning Disability Nurse in the next couple of months to come. Studying a BTEC opens you up to a whole range of opportunities!”
